European Athlete as Student (EAS) – the Dual Career Network and European University Sports Association (EUSA) on 8th of December 2016, signed a to improve cooperation between the organisations in the field of “Dual Career” for student athletes.
EAS representatives Prof. Laura Capranica (ITA) and Prof. Mojca Doupona-Topic (SLO) took the chance to meet EUSA representatives, Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik and Sara Rozman, responsible for the EUSA education and development program, prior to the start of the Youth Sport Conference 2016 in Ljubljana (09./10.12.16). Accompanied by EUSA Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl, they discussed cooperation in future projects and educational events.
The cooperation is aiming to raise the awareness on dual career solutions for elite athlete students at higher education institutions in Europe, and to distribute and disseminate the knowledge and examples of good practice, based on researches about dual career development to all stakeholders involved.
The topic is recognised as one of the priority themes by within the Sport Unit of the European Commission, and due to that, the cooperation between EAS and EUSA as well will enable funding opportunities for projects and partnerships on “DUAL CAREER” between European institutions.(PICTURES:Andrej Pisl, EUSA)
