“Athletic migration: dual career and qualification in sports”
The project will deal with the question of how those athletes can successfully manage a dual career in academic education and competitive sports, whose competitive sports conditions include frequent changes of location or training in other places than their own home base, such as in water sports or winter sports.
On the one hand, the goal is to draw up recommendations for supporting structures, on the other hand, to convey the perspectives of the topic and at the same time solution approaches to the stakeholders from sports, politics and education. The biggest challenge is certainly that in the EU Member States completely different support systems work, as by previous EU projects such. “Dual Career Quality Framework”, already demonstrated.
The project is funded by the EU from the ERASMUS + in Sport for Collaborative Partnerships, runs for over 3 years until 2020 and under the direction of the University of Salzburg (AUT) as a “project lead”, includes the following partners:
• University Sport Service Hamburg (GER)
• Lapland University of Applied Sciences (FIN)
• University of Ljubljana (SLO)
• University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (ITA)
• European Athlete as Student Network (MLT)
• EAS – Athlete as Student Network (MLT)
Results from the AMID project and other EU projects with a focus on dual careers, are supposed to develop the next step in creating an European mindset of an athlete friendly supporting environment to full fill the needs of a DUAL CAREER.
The project website “www.amid-project.eu” will show the project progress from mid-March on.
