he Members of the Executive Board of EAS participated in the 7th Conference for Youth Sport which was held in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana on December 12 and 13. On occasion of that conference, EAS EC members held their board meeting and discussed upcoming chances and challenges related to ERASMUS+ program and projects EAS is involved in. During the conference the EAS Board Members presented their lecture about their latest finding related to Dual Career concerning the national level and situation.
One of the main decisions for upcoming year 2015 was to accept the application of Topsport Academie Amsterdam (Hogeschool Amsterdam) to host the next EAS conference in September 2015. Dates will be announced as soon as possible. EC as well decided to nominate EAS Secretary General Joerg Foerster (Freie Universität Berlin) to represent the EAS Network on observer statue when the new selected Expert Group “Human Resources Development in Sport” will focus on “dual career” issues. In case that Mr. Foerster is prevented to attend a meeting, Dr. Ilivs Abelkains (University of Latvia) will represent EAS.
During their meeting in Ljubljana EAS President Prof. Dr. Laura Capranica (Foro Italico – Rome) and EAS Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mojca Doupona Topic (University of Ljubljana) took the chance to visit the office of the European University Sports Association (EUSA). They were welcomed by EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik and Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl. Both organisations are looking forward for more close cooperation in the future and potential joint projects to develop the “dual career” awareness amongst European University Sport Federations and their members.
