Between the 5th and the 7th of May the first workshop of the EU-funded Pro Safe Sport for Young Athletes (PSS) project was held in Budapest, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences of Semmelweis University (TF). The project is led by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport of the Council of Europe (EPAS), and EAS is one of the 14 project partners. (more…)
As of 1 January 2014, the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) of the Council Europe implements the EU funded initiative “Pro Safe Sport for Young Athletes (PSS)” with its 14 partners – including EAS – from all over Europe. My name is Dom Parsons and I compete for Great Britain in the Sport of Skeleton. I fi rst got involved with Skeleton after I started studying at the University of Bath, and after splitting the last couple of years of my undergraduate degree whilst competing on the international Skeleton circuit I am now studying for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and vying for a spot on the British team for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (Russia). The 10th Annual EAS Conference in Tronheim saw for the first time student-athlete role models presenting their dual career experiences to the delegate. One of those role models was Xicu Colomar, who has been balancing his academic studies alongside competing as an elite track and field athlete. (more…)
The EAS 10th conference was held in Trondheim, Norway from the 19th till the 21st September. It is a tradition at the EAS conference that the host country presents its dual career system, and it was the case in Norway as well. (more…)
On 21 August 2013 the ADH working group for Dual Career met for the second time this summer, this time in Frankfurt with representatives of the DOSB and Olympic training centers. The attendees reflected first on the current situation in the universities and in the support systems of elite sport. (more…)
