During the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) congress held in the City Hall of Rome on November 4, 2022 Philippe Housiaux, President of the European Fair Play Movement and Laura Capranica, President European Athlete as Student, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aiming to promote and to develop education and fair play in Europe. In enforcing tolerance and respect for competitors, EFPM reflects a philosophy of life based on universal ethical values of integrity, democracy, equality, inclusion, sustainability, and education in sport. In sharing the fundamental human rights of the sportspersons to play and education, EAS and EFPM are committed to contribute to sustain the values of the European Union in and through sport and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The cooperation between EFPM and EAS intends to combine energies and resources to exchange educational tools for their respective network, to achieve their aims and objects, and to disseminate the concept of Dual Career values and Fair Play on the largest scale possible. EAS and EFPM will establish a two-year calendar programme to integrate the Fair-Play and Dual Career concepts in their activities, educational tools, scientific research, and networking activities. In particular, the EAS and EFPM events will provide opportunities for mutual promotion and communication to raise awareness, to deepen knowledge, and to foresee innovative programmes and projects for the continuous development of Dual Career and Fair Play in sports.
